3 Ways to Wear Over-The-Knee Boots For Spring

Once February is here, the warmer weather feels so close yet so far! I’ve been secretly sneaking my lighter weight tops into my wardrobe lately by layering them under thick jackets and cardigans. I pair them with heavy pants and over-the-knee boots for spring “like” outfits. I’ve been wearing floral prints and lace trying to convince myself that spring has sprung. Needless to say, I am excited to wear my spring wardrobe and ready for it be springtime already!

After the groundhog saw it’s shadow and declared six more weeks of winter, I’m sure you’re all ready for a change in season and temperature. I don’t know about you, but I am never sad to see winter go. One snowfall and a few days in the single digits, and I’ve had my fill!

The one thing I do miss when winter fades into spring, is my winter wardrobe. I hate knowing that I won’t be able to wear those clothes again until fall. With the coming of spring, scarves are stashed away. Boots and booties are put back on the shelves. Sweaters are folded and out of sight.

In their place, colorful floral prints become your new go-to. Stylish sandals and wedges show off your pretty pedi for the first time since the leaves started changing color. Bearing a little skin in short skirts and dresses feels long over-due. Spring brings new beginnings, blooming flowers, warmer weather, and a sense of optimism.

What has been your go-to piece this winter? All winter long, my favorite fashion trend has been wearing over-the-knee boots. They go with so many things I already own and are a such an ultramodern twist on a typical boot. As much as I am looking forward to warmer weather and fresh flowers, I will disappointed to put my over-the-knee boots back in the box until next season.

What if I didn’t have to?

Boots are typically a fall/winter staple that you slowly begin to replace with booties, then sneakers and flats, and finally sandals as the temperatures rise. However, I just got my pair of over-the-knee boots as a Christmas gift and I am dying to keep on wearing them! Instead of putting them away and saving them for fall, find new ways to wear them and pair them with different types of fabric to achieve a light, airy look.

Put a spring in your step! Continue wearing over-the-knee boots for spring with these outfit ideas. Between all the pink and floral prints, these looks are going make you start craving spring weather as much as I am!

In this look, I created an ultra-comfy vibe by pairing these over-the-knee boots with soft, floral leggings, a flowy knit top with lace trim, and a pretty pink necklace. The boots really dress up the look and elevate a simple outfit. The floral leggings and the bright color of the shirt are perfect for springtime and drawing in warmer weather. The jeans make it feel more casual, while the boots and dressy top add an elegant flair. The lack of accessories keeps the look minimal with the boots being the focal point. This floral print blouse is perfect for spring without being over the top.

I could wear this look out to dinner and drinks or just to go pick up groceries from the store. It looks chic and modern while still being casual to wear every day.

In this look, I paired my over-the-knee boots with a floral print dress and a blush pink, lightweight, denim jacket. The skirt comes just a little above the knee and shows just a little hint of skin. This is an ideal length to wear with these boots and create flattering proportions. The lace up details around the neckline add a little bit of edginess to this otherwise super sweet outfit.

I would wear this to a bridal shower or even to the office by switching the denim jacket for a tailored blazer. This look is very playful and girly, yet the boots add a sense of sophistication.
