As a child, Valentine’s Day crafts consisted of creating decoupaged card holders out of old shoe boxes and cutting out uneven heart shaped garland. Everything was hastily slapped together with tape and glue to make more time for eating candy until our stomachs hurt. We couldn’t care less about the cards and hand-written notes, as long as we got our favorite treats. While this has changed over the years (just the sloppy crafts, I still eat candy until my stomach hurts!), Valentine’s Day still holds a special place in my heart, pun intended.
With the glitter cleaned up from the New Year celebrations and the calendar already flipped to February, there is not much time left to get ready for Valentine’s Day this year. I feel like I just finished putting Christmas decorations away and now it’s already time to decorate for Valentine’s Day!
Red and pink.
Hearts and arrows.
Paper and ribbons.

Materials: 3 fake, crafting red roses, wooden heart, red paint & paint brushes, a hot glue gun & hot glue sticks, and glitter glue.
Time: 30 minutes
Paint the wooden heart red. Be sure to paint all around the edges as well and let dry.
Cut the stems off the flowers and hot glue them to the edge of the painted heart.
Cut leaves off the stem and strategically hot glue around the flowers for added detail.
Smear glitter glue around the heart to add a little extra sparkle and shine.
Then, use the glitter glue to write the word “love” across the heart. Use a pen or pencil to outline it before writing it in glitter if needed.
